Step 8: Finding Your Crypto Community
It is important in Crypto to find a supporting community that will help you grow your knowledge and spot the trends
All right everyone,
You have bought NFTs, participated in Liquidity Pools/Farming. You have your hardware and software wallet and have been DCA into crypto for a while.
To me, this is the most crucial step in all of the crypto: finding your tribe. It will exponentially grow your understanding and give you help.
1. Create an Anon Identity:
You may notice that I go by BowTiedSeaTurtle. I chose the BowTied avatar because I am a subscriber to BowTiedBull, and mimicked what many followers did on Twitter.
Here is me on Twitter - give me a follow if you haven’t already done so!

There is a culture of Be a BowTied Follow a BowTied. The benefit of having BowTied in my name is that I get many Twitter followers instantly. And when you DM people on Twitter, they are more likely to recognize you as “part of the tribe” and feel a digital connection.
We are in the metaverse now, so the things that typically drew people together (sports, hometowns, politics) will not be as apparent.
So with that, I suggest creating an anon account on Twitter. Twitter is the most accessible place to go to find crypto information
After making a Twitter account - I recommend setting up an anon email. I use proton email, and my handle is pretty easy to guess
2. Sign up for Substacks
Once you make your anon email - sign up for the substacks and match your Twitter avatar to the Substack avatar. You want to build your brand. Here are the three substacks I recommend joining
There are three great crypto substacks I recommend and in this order.
3. Join Discords
The same way you used your anon identity to sign up for the substack, use the same identity in the Discords
Discord is where the actual community is grown. And where a ton of great insight on new coins and good “alfa" “not only for the substack subscribers, but many of your favorite Crypto Protocols have their dedicated Discord servers (OHM, TIME, TraderJoes, etc.)
Here is one of the BowTied discords I am in:

4. Find the right Media
There is a plethora of great media out there for those wanting to learn more about crypto. There are also some evil ones. Scammers and people who will use you as “exit liquidity” (they pump their projects hope they hype enough of their followers to buy, then sell when the price goes higher). Here is a sampling of some of my favorite podcasts and youtube channels to learn more:
There you go! Those are some of my favorite places to learn more. What are yours? Anything I missed? Feel free to add!
